I initially found it disappointing that Jonah Hill was using his well-earned celebrity clout to mount a big-screen 21 Jump Street movie, even though the actor was insisting it would be funny and violent. I got even less interested when Channing Tatum, the moderately talented human two-by-four from the Step Up movies and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, signed on to be Hill's co-star. The trend of reviving outdated television series as outsized comedy flicks, kicked off in 1987 with Dragnet, has never caught on as an actual trend and the original 21 Jump Street show was not something I was a fan of anyway.
Then the first trailer for the movie hit and I found it really funny. Now, there's a newer, longer, and more profane 21 Jump Street trailer for you to laugh your ass all the way through.
